Burnside Skatepark

Burnside Skatepark is a world famous homegrown concrete skatepark built by skaters in Portland Oregon. The park began as a single bank built by skaters looking for a dry place to skate in rainy Portland. Over the years, more banks, hips, and bowls were added by hard-working Portland skaters, filling out the whole area under the bridge. It is now a world-class concrete paradise, featured in many videos, magazines, and video games over the years.

Burnside is reportedly a lot easier to skate these days than it was in the early years, but it still takes some getting used to. Rumors of unwelcoming locals are greatly exaggerated. If you show up attitude-free and respectful of the park and others, you shouldn't have a problem.

One of the best parks in Portland. Can get pretty crowded in the summer, but it's worth a visit.
