San Francisco finally got a decent skatepark! Potrero Del Sol has something for everyone. This place can get really crowded, especially on weekends.

Great spot for tech heads. The manual pads are the perfect size. The popularity of this place can make it a annoying. You have to skate around the skate stoppers (until someone tears them off again)

It's harder to skate here than it looks. Definitely a fun place to chill out, BBQ, enjoy the views, and goof around on the banks... but don't come here expecting an awesome skate spot.

Nice to hit if you're passing through, but you'll probably get kicked out within ten minutes.

This is another spot where you're likely to find other people skating (and meet lots of other "interesting" people too). There's not much to it, but for some reason it's super fun to skate. It's one of the few places in the city where you generally won't get kicked out.

Downside: This place is pretty dirty. Make sure you've had your tetanus shot.

As a midwest expat, I really like this place. It reminds me of the flat, smooth parking lots I grew up skating. There isn't much to it, but you can cruise around and practice your slappies and lipslides to your heart's content.

For some reason I never really got into Wallenberg. I'm not a great gap skater, and the ledges feel claustrophobic because of the angle you're forced to hit them at. I usually end up doing tricks on the super mellow "bank" to the right of the big four, or cranking out big slappies on the bottom step.

This is a fun, mellow skatepark with great views of the SF Bay . It's not the most modern park, but it's rarely crowded either. I think this park was built by locals, so it definitely has its own personality. Overall, it's just a fun place to just hang out and skate with no drama.

This is a fun 70's style park. The lack of coping can be frustrating for someone used to skating modern bowls/ramps, but the bowls are fun to just carve around in. You can definitely get lots of speed going and almost never touch the flat bottom.

This is a fun little bump. You can usually skate it for a while without getting busted, as long as there's not an event going on. The garage itself is also fun to bomb. This is a good place to skate in the winter or when it's raining. (Note: I haven't skated this since the late 90s, so things may be different now)

This is too tight and narrow to have any fun in. The novelty wears off after a few dizzying minutes, which is good, because that's about how long it will take for you to get busted.

Fun waxed ledge with a smooth run up. Not really a bust, but it's getting kinda rounded and torn up.

Third and Army is training grounds for street skaters. Definitely a great place to meet up with other skaters and hone your ledge skating skills. The ledges are getting rounded off because of all the skating, which is why I'm giving four stars instead of five.

I used to go to this park all the time in the 90s. It's a great place to go in the winter.

This thing scares the crap out of me. Definitely try taking it at low speed to get a feel for it. Even if you land your trick, you'll be flying into a very busy intersection. Save this one for late night.

This thing is kinda fun to mess around on. Definitely hit it a few times if you're passing through, but I wouldn't really make a special trip for it. This place is pretty dirty.
